Le ménage, le bruit, le personnel au restaurant pas ultra accueillant mais pas désagréable non plus, les détritus au alentours et dans la mer

Ein einmalig schöner, entspannter Urlaub direkt am Meer mit seinem schwarzen Sandstrand. Die Anlage liegt in einer grünen Bucht in der Nähe einer Fischersiedlung. Das Frühstück ist ausgewogen und reichhaltig.

I'm still here! Two more blissful nights. I want to say a huge thank you to the person who wrote in an earlier review "...like Bali used to be". That and the (completely accurate) photos were enough to convince me. I have been here four nights so far. She/he will likely never read my thanks but believe me they are from the bottom of my heart. This is just what I have wanted after travelling 7 countries un 75 days.* Food is scrumptious and very reasonably priced (the Teryaki Tuna was so good I'll have it again tonight; the gyoza too) with a very wide range including Japanese. Breakfast was good too (try the black rice porridge, the pineapple pancakes and the mixed fruit juice). Perfect pool and loungers, a small library in various languages (as I writer this is always a plus point for me). The super-friendly staff have gone out of their way to make me feel very special and my visit valuable. Wayan and his motorbike really went out of his way to get me the 5 klms or so in and out of Amed. He even brought (wet) money when I wanted to make a purchase at the little Elvara *recommebded) perfume shop in Amed but had run out of money. He got soaked in the downpour and so did I on the return trip. Lovely tropical rain. Great fun. I booked the smallest bungalow and spent a lot of time on the raised entrance - enormous bamboo chairs and tables, and places for massage: see Made and her mother - just reading, taking notes, looking at the sea, and listening to the gentle Balinese conversations and laughter around me. I loved everything and only wish I could stay longer. My only caveat would be: the "action" such as it is is in Amed. Here it is blissfully quiet. It might affect your decision. Transportation can be arranged but Grab is notuceably absent.
