Tenorio Lodge

An amazing place with stunning views and abundant wildlife. Lots of birds and we were lucky enough to see a whole troop of white-faced monkeys. Also awoke to the sound of Howler monkeys. Breakfast was very nice too.

We could only stay for one night!

The bungalows were very nice, silent and with a nice view into the nature. The host (Christine) was very nice and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were very tasty. The surrounding with the Tuccas and all the other birds was extraordinary. The nearby Blue River Distillery also is worth a visit, after coming back from the nearby National Park.

The whirl pools were rather cool; but nicely located.

El Tenorio Lodge es una joyita maravillosa cerca del Río celeste y del volcán Tenorio . Bungalows muy espaciosos con una cristalera y una terraza con vistas increíbles . Su belleza supera cualquier fotografía de la web ! Entorno dentro de un bosque donde se pueden ver cada día multitud de animales ! Es una gozada desayunar y cenar con estas vistas. Destacar el trato y la atención recibida por la propietaria Cristina y por Daily. Siempre atentas a cualquier necesidad y sobre todo pendientes en todo momento de qué estuviéramos a gusto .. muchas gracias Cristina por tu cercanía y amabilidad. El llegar al hotel por la tarde después de cada excursión nos hacía tanta ilusión que las propias excursiones! .. y la ilusión es algo muy valioso cuando estás de viaje !!

no air conditioner and it was very hot, 1 fan that was very slow. lights did not work out side. the lobby closes at 21:00

7 hectares of beautiful forest, with several short trails and 3 ponds or so. food was delicious, staff very helpful, and host/owner Christine very gracious. Saw two kinds of monkeys, a tapir, and tons of birds including 3 kinds of toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, and much more - all in less than 24 hours. Beautiful and relaxing. Next time, we will stay longer!

אין מזגן אבל היה מאוורר תקרה - בלילה לא חם אז אין בעיה במהלך היום חם ולא נעים להיות בצימר אבל יש גינה קטנה חמודה לקחת בחשבון רעשים בלילה מהחיות 9:30 בערב - הקבלה והבית קפה נסגרים ואין איפה להיות

Ich empfehle wirklich jedem Reisenden, welcher zum Teil hautnah Tiere erleben will, diese Unterkunft. Auf dem Grundstück in unmittelbarer Nähe zu den schönen Bungalows leben Faultiere ( 2- und 3- Finger), Brüllaffen, verschiedene Tukanarten, Kolibri und eine große Anzahl weiterer Vögel und kleinerer Säugetiere, welche man auch vom Bungalow oder der Restaurantterrasse aus nächster Nähe beobachten kann. Es ist ein Traum! Wir haben mehr Tiere und auch aus kürzerer Distanz gesehen, als mit Guide in den Nationalparks. Absoluter Höhepunkt war, dass uns die Chefin Christine gegen 22.00 Uhr geweckt hat, weil vor dem Haus ein Tapir zu beobachten war, der sich nicht stören ließ und ganz dicht an uns herankam. Ein einmaliges Erlebnis. Und das passiert wohl öfters. Die Chance hier einen Tapir aus der Nähe zu sehen, ist aus unserer Sicht bei Christine höher als bei einer geführten Nachttour nahe dem Nationalpark Tenori. Der ca. 13km entfernte Nationalpark mit dem herrlich blauen ( chemische Reaktion ) Rio Celeste und Wasserfall lohnt sich trotzdem. Personal hervorragend und sehr hilfreich, man fühlt sich fast wie in einer Familie. Frühstück und Abendessen lecker. WLAN nur im Haupthaus/Restaurant, durchaus verschmerzbar. Insgesamt ein großartiges Erlebnis bei Christine, wir werden uns ewig erinnern.

We saw a tapir really up close
