"Great place with a memorable atmosphere"

Our room was spotless clean with a lot of nice touches. My kid fell in love with the place just because of welcome cookies and chocolates in the room. Antique furniture and decor create a very unusual and memorable space. Owner is very friendly. It is a very convenient location for accessing the ski hill and the town. I already booked my next stay there.

"A nostalgic step back in time."

A whimsical step back in time...the motel is filled with quirky touches. Each room has a theme. The owner checked us in and provided us with a lovely loaf of zucchini bread, the last from her garden. There were only two guests at the motel, and the other room was right beside ours which I found strange. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was functional, a step back in time. Would stay there again.

The heater was a bit finicky...once it got started it ran fine. Figuring out how to turn it on was a challenge. The instructions for the room were not clear on how to use the heater.

"Staying at the North Star Hotel was a wonderful experience on our road trip and one of the highlights"

The motel is about 5 minutes from downtown Kimberly on Hwy 93 in the fresh air of the forest. Trish and Tobin run the entire operation and take great pride in their property from check in to departure. The check in office is like a museum of antiques and family heirlooms. Trish checked us in and welcomed us with a mini loaf of amazing carrot cake. Our room had the kitchenette, with all that we needed and more. The decorating was so eclectic and fresh it put a smile on my face. Tobin did all the amazing woodwork in all the rooms when they renovated. Trish and Tobin also do the housekeeping and our room was immaculate and so fresh smelling. There were chairs and a table outside our room to relax and also a park like area at the front of the property with Adirondack chairs to do the same. They also have a hot tub shaded by an arbor and vines and a garden area. Of course parking out front of your unit as well as parking for longer units, but I would confirm with them depending on the length. Highly recommend staying there.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
