Double G Service

The motel is cute, very clean, beds were comfortable...breakfast at the dinner next door was amazing! Best French toast ever and we just loved the entire place. Dog friendly and easy late check-in. We wouldn't come through this way without stay here & eating here! Seriously, best bread from Skagway, Alaska to home!

I wish we could have stayed another night and had time for some hiking and lake time. Just passing through this stay.

My husband and I have begun putting the Double G Service on our "must stop" list. It was recommended to us by a Trucker in Ft Nelson and we have thoroughly enjoyed taking a break here, having a delicious home cooked meal with bread to die for, huge sandwiches, and delicious bacon! The ambiance is great. If you feel like you need special pampering don't stop. If you're down to earth and understand these folks work hard, appreciate common sense and built a life in the middlenof nowhere this is your place. We never met Jack but met his son, Scott, who has taken over with his wife, Sylvia. Enjoyed our interaction with him, his crazy stories. He cooked us a fabulous breakfast and sent us on our way fat, dumb and happy!! We'll be stopping again!!

location is excellent. everything was clean

floor heaved so bad in room 3 that opening and closing the door for seniors very difficult. need some chairs and a sofa in all the empty space

Basically a clean if not fairly beat up room.

Just pretty beat up. Stood and waited too too long waiting to get seated in the restaurant.

This is only a review of the breakfast food as that is the only thing I purchased there. After reading the reviews, I was interested to see what the fuss was about and mildly curious as to how gruff the owner was. I wasn’t a huge fan of his, there’s a fine line between gruff and jerk. But I didn’t really care as we were just there for a quick breakfast before some hiking and the hotsprings. I did notice that he treated the local road crews much better than those who were obviously tourists. As for the breakfast…I wasn’t overly impressed with that either. The hashbrowns were overcooked and had very little flavour. The bacon was thick sliced but the taste wasn’t anything impressive. Sure, the bread was homemade but he slices it so thick for toast that it was almost impossible to take a bite. Overall, did not live up to the hype. This cost difference between this place and the buffet breakfast just up/down the road at Northern Rockies Lodge wasn’t that huge and at least the lodge has decent coffee. Summary: not the worst breakfast I’ve ever had but wouldn’t go again.
