Relax Beach Resort Candidasa

Perfect location right above the beach with plenty of sand & safe swimming at the bottom of the steps. Some nearby hotels have only water & rocks below. Wonderful views, nice pool with plenty of shade from gorgeous trees. Staff are very friendly & helpful but communication a bit hit & miss, for example they didn't offer to clean our rooms on the 1st morning until we asked and we weren't told until checkout time that we could've had free drinking water refills in our bottles the whole time. Definitely worth paying for the deluxe rooms as they are separate little cottages with patios, unlike the superior rooms. Most have sea views. The 2 'deluxe double rooms with balcony & sea view' are the cream of the crop, directly facing the sea with a large lawn area in front.

The cottages on the right side are beautifully light and airy with big windows, however it's not so good at night with the garden lights shining in through the non blockout curtains and the upper window has no curtain. The hot water in the shower was impossible to properly regulate, either burning hot or else cool. Surfaces weren't properly cleaned, my white sanitizing wipes became black, even on the bathroom shelf. No blanket on the bed but fortunately I had my own.

The location is beautiful - on the beach and there are shops and moneychangers right in front. The is road is busy but you can't hear any traffic from inside - it's so well designed. The bungalow was so pretty and the perfect size and the bed was very comfortable The staff are lovely - they really look after you. Anything you need, just ask and they will help. Also, if someone comes to offer a snorkelling guided tour, say yes - it will be a local and they are great - ours was Nemo with a boat called "Dory and Nemo". Best snorkelling I've ever seen at Blue Lagoon and Nemo guided us to some beautiful spots and we saw 5 turtles!

It's beyond the control of the bungalows - the fact that walking anywhere is so difficult. There is no space between resorts and the water in many places so you have to walk on the road and there's no space for pedestrians on many parts of the road, which is why the traffic is so constant- no one walks anywhere, except us. Made me sad.

Die kleine Größe des Resorts macht es sehr gemütlich. Die Angestellten sind sehr nett und stets bemüht es jedem Gast so schön wie möglich zu machen (wir bekamen zwischendurch auch mal eine Tüte voller Obst). Sehr zentrale Lage, inmitten von unzähligen Einkaufsläden und Restaurants. Direkter Strandzugang. Frühstück wird für jeden Gast individuell frisch gemacht, es gibt kein Buffet, was wir wirklich sehr gut fanden!

Das Resort ist nicht neuesten Zustandes, hier und da müssten Reparaturen durchgeführt werden (Klimaanlagen und Kühlschränke sind schon sehr laut).
