Goroji Bekkan

The rooms were clean and the location was fantastic. Very close for my dad who can't walk far due to bad knees. Compared to ryokan nearby it was cheaper and good value if you don't need a super traditional type place.

There was a smell of cigarettes from one of the rooms on the first floor. It is a little uncertain at arrival for things like where to park and entering the building pictured felt like intruding in someone's house. The check in is over the road so once that's worked out it's easier and comfortable. The TV in one of the two rooms we got was tiny and there were no chairs in the rooms to help my parents who are more elderly.

Very nice and helpful staff. Can buy breakfast, gave me towels and yukata without added pricing.

Chance of getting a tatami room is low, but I didn't mind being in a western room.

Location, cleanliness and staff.

Though rustic, the private onsen was a huge plus! The staff was very attentive and helpful. We were very close to the main tourist area but far enough that it was quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was convenient. Excellent value!

We have no complaints and would stay again!

Poor reception and cold welcoming. The room was ok but I had boomed a japanese style room and got a western style room instead. No bathroom towels were given. After I asked I understood it had to be rented, but it would be nice to tell us those rules once we arrive. Appart from that it is clean and quiet.
