Loved the hotel. Location was a little far out for us. Taxi back and forth to town was about $50 USD each way and some taxis only took cash. Hotel and staff were exceptional.

The dinner and breakfast were excellent and exceed our expectation. If you love dining, this is a place for you. The hotel is a bit far but it's manageable with the hotel shuttle. The hotel environment is peaceful. There is a private onsen with a comfortable half outdoor room. Booking the private onsen should be done when you check in.

The bus from the train station was convenient and timely. The staff was friendly and attentive and were genuinely pleased to see us. We took a private onsen in a wonderful hot spring. The kaiseki was wonderful and a great value, and we enjoyed the breakfast as well.

The hotel staff provided superb service, mostly in English. Communicating with staff in English prior to our arrival allowed us to plan our meals/food allergies, free shuttle. This was fantastic ! Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Allow at least 2 hours for dinner to enjoy the full experience. The in-room bath with semi open design was my favorite feature with 30 degree F. outside cold air coming in while soaking in hot bath water...in total privacy. Open air public bath was great too. Beautiful yukata for my wife to wear was a nice touch. Game room with darts, pool table, ping pong perfect for our sons.

Some of the doorways in the room are low. My wife is 5'10", I'm 6'0". We had to duck, be careful when going from main room to bath, toilet room.
