Ryuudo

The “onsen theme park” is amazing. Among the many onsens, one stands out as probably the best I have visited in many years of coming to Japan. Also, food was fantastic.

It’s a little aged.

You can enjoy hours in the 18 baths and forget about the world in the wilderness of the Mountains.

The kitchen is placed right below the rooms. So unfortunately the entire floor and rooms smelled like deep frieed food. The entrance of the room and the bathroom had seen better days. The dining room we used had a very strong smell to it and was a little moldy.

Everything! The 18 baths are all so good. Especially the outdoor ones. They are open 24/7 so you can enjoy them in the morning sun, evening, night time under the stars..its really amazing. You choose a dragon token for whichever bath you want, hang it outside the door, then lock the door inside. No one can bother you, you get the entire bath to yourself! As a solo traveller, it was so nice to be able to leisurely enjoy the baths at my own pace. Also, the staff were incredible. So accommodating, friendly, and they made the most delicious meals. Breakfast and dinner is served in private rooms and the food was so healthy and delicious. I loved everything about my 2 day stay here and I definitely want to return!
