Balranald Motor Inn

Near and clean, close to cafes and bistro. 1 queen bed, 3 singles. Same comfy beds as I’ve always experienced at Balranald Motor Inn. Good value for money, however I grew up in a home of similar vintage and this property is still very much a ‘renovator’s dream’.

I booked by accident because photos on Booking.com are NOT of this property, and the pics on the motel website are highly curated. It’s a 100 year old 2 bedroom house with a lot of work to be done on it to make the pre-WW2 style and fixtures a retro asset. The wooden boards on the front verandah (entry way) barely feel safe, and the property has a sloping, uneven floor. TV reception very poor compared to hotel rooms in Balranald Motor Inn. Large back yard but it’s not secure (back gate won’t close). We were there for one quiet night so ultimately it met our needs, but I’d have preferred something in the main hotel - which is more what I thought I’d booked going by the photos.
