Y-5 Motel

Great bed, friendly staff, shower adjusted temperature super accurately.

Very friendly staff and the rooms were quiet compared to other motels in Barriere. The rooms were spacious and could heat up quickly. We stayed in every motel in Barriere to try them out while visiting family and this one we visited twice as it was so much better than the rest. In total we stayed for 2 nights in 2 different rooms on the second block they have.

On our second night the bed was very hard I needed to check it was a mattress but you could see it was brand new so I doubt it will stay like this for long. Our bed on the first night was perfect, I think that was room 9 on the ground floor!

Location was convenient, room was what you'd expect for the price. It was clean and comfortable enough with no real issues.

There's zero sound insulation so every sound made it through the walls, especially the stomping of people up and down the stairs next to us. The microwave was in a cabinet and on an angle so the plate wouldn't spin. Would be great if there were a few accessible rooms, or at the very least some rooms with standalone showers rather than combo bath and shower.

Position. Reception staff v friendly. Freshly decorated rooms, clean towels each day, good supply of tea and coffee. Simple to use microwave. Lovely bed and sheets

Furniture bit tired, but fully serviceable

We loved that we were able to take our dog with us! We had a bottom room and it was so convenient to take her out for walks etc. This property isn't perfect but we are easy to please and don't need luxurious amenities....we value clean rooms, attentive & friendly staff and lower prices, which is exactly what the Y-5 gave us! The rooms were clean and the A/C worked great! Staff was very friendly and helpful! The price point was excellent and we would definitely stay there again.

Although the property was large and had alot of green-space to walk our dogs, the grounds were definitely in need of more attention and maintenance. I hate to comment some negative aspects but hopefully this is considered just some constructive criticism.... Many of the permanent RV tenants had very unsightly spaces. There was alot of broken glass, garbage, and debris all around the property, particularly around the overflowing (and smelly!) garbage can area. There were partly demolished RVs and other random piles of junk and old building supplies scattered around.

Location was convenient. Facility fulfilled the basics which was good.

The facility is looking somewhat worn out, but for the price it was okay. There was a bit of an issue on signing in because of a language barrier. I found the person on the phone difficult to understand..
