Mount Whitney Motel

Good location in town and close to Mt Whitney road.

The room was a little small. Parking was awkward to back out.

Everything other than the ability to sleep seemed great!

The point of a hotel/motel is to sleep. This place had wildly bright floursecent lights and wooden slat blinds which meant that without an eye mask, you had bright lights in your face all night long. Not a great way to sleep.

The location was good.

The bed was not comfortable.

Clean, well equipped and quiet enough. Great place to make a stop while traveling to the DV, good value. Staff was good and plenty of parking spots were available in front of the rooms.

It is an older property, but is well maintained

HIKER REVIEW: Clean, nicely updated 1950's motel (which I personally enjoy how quaint these are) located at the north end of town but it's only a 20 minute walk to the other end. Close by to Subway, convenience store and grocery store. This was a same day booking, I was coming off trail (JMT NOBO) for a family emergency :(, ending my hike. Would stay here again.

Overpriced for what you get, but isn't everything in California compared to the rest of the country?

Decent rate for peak season. Location was perfect.

The light fixture above the table should be cleaned.
