Pennwood Motor Lodge

This motor lodge is a throwback to the 60's which we enjoyed. It is on a busy Hwy US1 and can have alot of traffic noise. We enjoyed sand hill cranes outside our window each morning. We had a suite with a very small kitchenette and one queen bed. Renovations were in progress. It is a little dated, but clean with really nice staff. Heads up although they are pet friendly the beaches there are not. We took our dog and that really limited our beach time until we found a daycare kennel.

I would not recommend my worst enemy to stay at the Pennwood Motor Lodge. When we arrived, I felt as if the front desk attendant (David) was spread thin, but I ignored this. We got the keys to our room, and que the shrieking music. It smelled like they had not replaced the air filter in years. There were cracks on shower final floor. The deadbolt on the door hardly worked. But I felt like I might be able to put up with these elements. We left for dinner, and upon our return, there were lizards crawling on the walls. I’m not sure if this was supposed to be mentioned, or if I missed something from David. I made the executive decision to find another room elsewhere. When I spoke to Tony and Kim the other desk attendants. They both explained that this is all apart of the “Florida Charm” When I went to speak with them in person, they tried to debate that the Motor Lodge is up to standards. I disagreed. Then when I said I wouldn’t be staying the remainder of the nights, they explained that they would be booking the room to someone else. So, if you would like to be treated poorly, and have unknown guests in your room (the lizards). Stay at the Pennwood Motor Lodge.

A lot I would like to say and go into detail about my stay here but there’s not enough words to describe the disrespect and the lies and deception that went on. I along with 12 other people that stayed there enjoyed the place and the one manager that used to be there Virginia, but when they had hired a new assistant manager, Tony, who said she was a necessary change for the place because Virginia wasn’t cut out for the job...she pretty much took a dump on the rest of our time there and ruined our stay. Makes up her own rules when she feels like it and is never honest or on the same page with the manager that hired her. I know this because I would confront the other manager and she wouldn’t say anything about what Tony had mentioned or she would be just clueless. She allowed one tenant destroy 3 rooms and stay there longer than he should of but my fiancé needed to clean truck (350) out in front of our room and we get kicked out. Nevermind the 6 months we have been staying there with our friends who had their truck and ours (350&450) parked infront of the rooms. Shes an obnoxious and ignorant “muscle” so she calls herself...and I wouldn’t want to stay at the lodge again unless she was no longer there.

The room was clean, the staff was pleasant, the pool was nice. The only drawback is the train tracks literally in the backyard. If you don’t mind the hourly train at night, then this is the place for you.

This is not a 4 star hotel people, it's quaint, clean and staff is very accommodating. Close to everything you need. Will be back and have told others to stay there as most everything on the water is booked a year in advance.

enjoyed our stay very much. Staff was, courteous and went out of their way to accommodate our wishes Will return next year. Location was perfect and not far from wonderful restaurants and bars on the river. Rooms were clean and peaceful. Pool was nice and clean and the entire area had the nostalgic feel that we love.

We were there in December and it smelled bad. It was one room with kitchenette and there was particle board chips falling from the sink base countertop. I scrubbed the floor with a bleach cleaner to clean the floor and surfaces to clear the musty smell. The bathroom had holes in the walls. The area rug was filthy. There were few dishes and two cups. One cup had a broken handle. The cupboard doors wouldn't close. The pool was a nice area but needed maintenance. There was only one chair to watch tv but old small tv. The overall appearance was bad. There were paint cans, junk next door to our "room". The laundry machines were rusty and behind the buildings.

Came to Sebastian to celebrate my husband's birthday and fish. We usually go to a specific lodge but it was booked far in advance. Found this little gem and so glad that we did. It's an older lodge but the rooms are CLEAN, no bugs and the staff friendly. They are a green lodge and don't change your linen everyday which was fine by us. They will give you clean towels. We only changed our towels every other day as we were mostly swimming and relaxing. The pool is huge and fun. We swam almost everyday and had fun with the children and other adults. It's quiet at night and the beds are comfortable. I really didn't want to give it five stars as I'm afraid it'll stay booked! Will definitely be back. We stayed for five days.

Stayed for 4 days clean rooms pleasant personnel 2ill stay again. Close to vero beach and all the local hangouts. Pool is great and clean as well as the pleasant area with the wild life. Also smoking rooms available always a.plus

After a terrible experience at another nearby motel in town (Sandrift)...i wasnt expecting much. But i was wrong. This place is so charming and vintage. The decor is old Florida style with an air conditioner that came out ice cold. The shower and bathroom was squeaky clean and relaxing. The staff is so sweet and accommodating. They even allowed me a late check out since my fiance wouldnt be back till late afternoon. I slept sooo well here. I definitely recommend it if your a sucker for retro looking places. I loved all of the giant palm trees and flowers on the grounds, and the little anchor and nautical themed decor. Also.. Their is an impressive pool too..but unfortunately we didnt get to swim!! (Apparently the pump was broken?) Overall, This place is definitely no frills...but it's a safe and comfortable place to stay for a night or two..and you will enjoy it too.
