I arrived late at night, but I had indicated online that I would be doing so, and the motel owner/manager replied online that that would be OK. From what I saw online when making the reservation, the motel supposedly had a "24 hour reception desk." Bulls__t!!! When I arrived, the office/reception area was dark and locked up tight, so I had to call the motel's phone number, leave a voicemail message, and hope the owner/manager would call back. That caused all kinds of problems I won't go into, but I eventually reached him on the phone, and he told me where I could find an envelope with my room key. Once I got to my room, it was cold, so I tried to set a comfortable temperature on the thermostat. But guess what? The thermostat was dead as a doornail! I eventually saw, up near the ceiling, what I presumed was a heat pump unit that had replaced the old electric baseboard heating system. I eventually found a handheld remote control for the heat pump and figured out how to use it to get the room temperature. Doing all that took a lot of time that could have been much better spent getting ready for bed. I suppose I could have called the owner/manager back to find out how to warm up the room, but it was past midnight, and I didn't want to risk going through all the time-consuming problems I experienced contacting him the first time. At the very least, he should have had a wall sign displayed in a prominent place, informing guests about the new heating system AND TELLING THEM HOW TO USE IT!!!!

It was fine for one night while travelling

We were expecting an older motel, which was fine. A comfortable mattress on a solid frame should be part of a basic expectation, the bedframe we not secure, noisy and mattress was not comfortable.

Clean , easy to find

It was not 24 desk service, you need to call a phone to get help. Only caught a staff member by chance as we were leaving.
