The place was exactly as advertised. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets were clean. Hot water was available throughout.

The fan didn't assist on hot days. They should consider installing an aircon.

Wildlife nearby

Not clean, kettle was unusable due to impacted dirt, toilet was leaking sewage onto the bathroom deck. Trash was not collected by staff which attracted a lot of monkeys that caused havoc. They do not offer to have wood or ice delivered to the unit unlike competitors such as Bushveld Bivouac (there is a very long dirt road to the main gate which takes around 30 minutes to get to). They do not have a floor fan to assist with cooling down the tent and the overhead fan is not strong enough. The bedding is winter bedding “quilt” style so makes for a very hot sleepless night. You only get 2 toilet rolls, thereafter you are on your own. No pantry for dry food storage and for a “self-catering” accommodation, the fridge is smaller than what is found in hotel rooms around the country that are not self catering. Yes they are self-catering but competitors like Bushveld Bivouac, deliver ice/wood if needed, clean the premesis and empty trash daily amongst others.

It was amazing to come to Mountain View lodge. The pictures don’t lie it’s just so amazing there!! With a giraffe and zebras on the way to our lodge we discovered paradise☺️ The contact was also amazing, we could text them for all questions and they were 100% ready to respond immediately and jump in to help or for information where asked. Perfect service! We would definitely come back again!
