The Treehut at the Rabbithole, Upper Hutt

Such a cozy little hut. Open air bath was lovely to enjoy and the cat deduced to join me for my bath Amazingly friendly animals on property who welcomed me and saw me off Such a beautiful landscape and gardens and perfect for solo travellers super warm and cozy and felt like a little escape from reality. Host was really great and would have spent a longer stay there is possible!

With bed down not a lot of room for belongings so I would suggest only bringing the items you need up from the car to give you more room Open air bath takes a long time to heat up keep that in mind even after 1 hour heating it was still a mild temperature so plan ahead for that time It would be lovely to have a bug screen on the large window to have some fresh air but otherwise no complaints

Space was well thought out, house was left available to use washroom etc. We just needed a place to rest our heads as we traveled back home. It did the job very well.

Nothing bothered me, I enjoyed checkout was at 11:00

Very friendly owners. Authentic stay. Kitchen and bathroom are inside the owners' house, so don't be shy. Friendly dogs and cat (they want to Interact with you, so you have to like animals)

This was a great, cozy accommodation well-suited for couples wanting a cute romantic get away. The owners did a spectacular job of the decor, with the garden being themed with Lewis Carroll's Alice in wonderland. There were very cute and friendly dogs who were waiting to wish a good morning. There was a river to swim in nearby that was so beautiful. We especially enjoyed the indoor spa bath with candles and are looking forward to coming back to try out the outdoor heated bathtub and maybe even the sauna!

Sadly not alot really. A hut in a tree really did make us smile and wow us back to childhood upon looking at it and tucked in the bush was soothing on arrival at least but im sorry to say, the smiles stopped there. After the host accepted our money, Very quickly did so did any efforts in hospitality. She showed us the bathroom then the toilet & kitchen, said she need to clean the hut change the linen. As she was unaware of our reservation or of any up and coming bookings, the hut was still not cleaned from those previous to stay and why her house was such a mess. Changing only just the sheets n pillowcases and not the dirt n moul duvet covers umcomfortable for us to see and know we paid. Advertised was a bed. Not a pullaway couch.

I am a firm beleiver of such that if a person wants to be a host of a homestay, a host of any venue or accomadation, claiming to offer a comfortable experience with a difference, listing amenities available to share and use freely as a guest ! Then this is what they should actually provide. Be it simple or basic,be it truthful and genuine is whats important ! Especially if advertised with a trusted website like booking.com. We the people truely do hold faith in knowing booking.com are legitimate and uphold the standard expected and as advertised. Disappointing to know this may have been a successful tree hut stay once upon a time. Now we saw experienced and were to see with our stay. Not only did we have the host slam doors in anger of us being in her space. The hut itself and kitchen was very much unkept, unmaintained, dirty and very dusty. The entire property is neglected and the hut itself is honestly very dangerous, and paper thin window panes in an unmaintained tree so higb up and large was and is very scary ! With only partial of the windows covered with broken curtains is not good enough to offer to people as safe. A Cold ill mannerd host comfortable in making guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed was very deflating. We were Respectful. Kind. Honest. Clean. And genuinely happy to accept the misleading make up from what was advertised to give it a chance. But in al entirety. I just cant vaildate the tree hut and guests should be aware. Its not whats promised. Advertised is not whats delivered that is for sure. is no bed. Only a fold up couch, a multi power plug that sparks wen plugged into and missing woods where on a dustfilled floor used to be... not cool at all. Beware anhow . ady will take your money. Not even acknowledge you in company. Slam doors to make u fee like leavng the room ur in. A zero star rating. How it was deemed safe for adults on a site so well renound is beyond me and possibly something booking.com are actually unaware of.
