Carousel Beach Inn

Great location.

Our room A/C did not work, it was extremely hot and uncomfortable.

We are from the Bay Area and this will be our go to for family fun when we want to stay in Santa Cruz. The hotels tend to be expensive and old near the Boardwalk. but the value very good to excellent and the location and the ambiance of this place was all about the Boardwalk fun. Rooms are even decorated with roller coaster pictures! Many rooms have a view of the park (sometimes you can ask for that category of room when you call) and you are so close you can hear the rides operating and people screaming- for us this just added to the energy but be aware of that. Staff was great and very engaging. All facilities were clean in spite of it being an older property- maintained super well & we found out property is owned /operated by the Santa Cruz Seaside company that owns the Boadwalk . This is not a five-star resort -it is an econo Lodge type motel. But the value in comparison to many other similar properties in the adjacent areas is much better in our opinion. Good Continental breakfast included with make your own waffles and other breakfast items. If you're staying there you can get a pretty good discount on the wristbands for the boardwalk. We don't have anything negative to say it was all good! We were not able to get early in or late checkout as they were fully booked.

I liked everything about Carousel Beach Inn. The staff was very helpful and courteous, the room was as expected actually better and the location just topped it all off. You are literally right across the street from the Boardwalk. I was able to go to my room and relax anytime I wanted and saved on parking fees. Breakfast was also surprisingly good with a nice selection. Highly recommended.
