Breakfast was very simple and not as the booking.com picture/selections Please be aware in middle of nature, we had some nature gifts in the room but room is made daily and kept very clean overall ( dust in the side lights only)

There is a vast offer in accommodation in the island. Most of them look similar but what makes the difference is the service. Nyoman was more than excellent in making sure that our stay was perfect. the cottage was cozy and clean. The ac worked perfectly. the breakfast was just like being at home. if I could recommend a hotel in Nusa Penida, it would be The Catar Cottage.

the only little thing about the accommodation is that inside of our cottage (it was the #2) the internet signal was really weak and we had some trouble connecting to it.

The host is one of the nicest persons you will come across. Everyday he will prepare you breakfast, which consists of eggs, fruit salad, and coffee/tea. The cottage is in peaceful location surrounded by nature. He will rent you a scooter for a fair price, so you can use get around the island. Very good value for the money.

There is no soundproofing, so you can hear everything from outside (but that was not the problem during the night b/c of the peaceful location).

Quiet, spacious rooms, nice hot showers, good breakfast incl fruit, free water, nice host and comfortable beds. And the host can help you arrange transport, scooters and tours for a fair price (often better than the agencies)

wow we had the best stay at catar cottages, I’ve never met a more lovely owner. He was so attentive and made sure everything was perfect for us. He helped us with moped hire and taxis to the port and the breakfast was great too!

Great spot, with good WiFi and a great host who is very helpful.

My only constructive criticism would be some type of insect repellent for the rooms. Perhaps I had an odd experience but my bathroom was quite buggy when I arrived. Very manageable though.

cannot recommend this place enough!! the outside area is gorgeous with loads of plants and trees while the inside of the huts are extremely spacious and very clean. very good aircon and comfy bed that is made/changed daily. nice and clean bathroom with a hot shower that has very very good pressure. the host was absolutely amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, he was very helpful and welcoming!! free breakfast, scooter rental and laundry service all available. it is a good location (if you have a scooter) as it is about a 5/10 min drive to the harbour and restaurants.

the shower did run out of hot water after about 5 minutes of showering

Arriving at Catar Cottages I was immediately impressed with the lush setting, obviously the work of someone with a passion for gardening. That person is Inyoman, the owner and an absolute legend. He immediately offered me coffee or tea, and made me feel welcomed and appreciated the whole stay... Which I wish could have been longer. His breakfasts are delicious and he is a man of the world, having worked on cruise liners for years. The cabins themselves are new and cozy, kept very clean. Some of my best times.on Penida were sitting outside in the garden in the morning or evening and drinking tea. My last night, lnyoman and I enjoyed a delicious fish curry he made that afternoon from a fish I had caught. It was spectacular. When it was sadly time to go, Inyoman took care of my ferry tickets, got me a better price on my scooter rental and then took me right to the dock. I have never had a better host!

It was a very pleasant stay. We were the only guest at this time there. The room has AC and the water pressure is amazing for Asia. The owner is very friendly and open for any questions. We really enjoyed to stay there. We can highly recommend this place.

The staff were very friendly and would help with booming tours or transportation. Room was clean and shower was good with warm water and good pressure.
