This place is more than an excellent place to stay, it was an entire experience! Our family of 5 stayed one night and we were beyond impressed. The building is an old house with character, but had just enough updates to make it comfortable. The futon beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable. Everything is spotless and clean and it's obvious the owners take great care of the place. The dinner and breakfast experience was amazing, delicious, and well worth the trip on its own. The traditional house clothes provided, the various slippers, the onsen/hit tub/bath, and even a dance lesson at the end of the night made the whole stay an incredible memory for our family. If you have the chance to stay here, do it without delay!

Best ryokan of the 8 we stayed in - incredible value, great location on the magome street for the hike. Loved that the included breakfast and dinner. Lovely staff. Comfy futons.

Great that you get a free private bathroom slot but it was a little bit grimy at the end of the day after lots of uses - really just a big bath.

Loved the authentic hometown vibe of the family that runs this place. 8 generations! The location is excellent, the shikibuton and futon were very comfortable, food was good. The family members were friendly and some spoke to us in English and shared history of the inn. The elderly mother in the family does all of the cooking. The family has many stories about their property. That was very special and made the night stay wonderful.

Pretty steep stairs to get to bathroom in the middle of the night. There was a noisy cat outside on the rooftop but somehow that was charming to us.

The food was excellent. Service was very friendly. Beds were comfortable. Location was perfect.

I’m an American, communal bathrooms and scheduling the shower time was not great. We stayed at other Japanese style accommodations and they at least had a private toilet and sink.
