Friendly family run business, generous rooms, nice onsen

Breakfast didn’t happen for two days due to staff shortage Onsen in the morning would have been great too

The staff truly care. We were welcomed with excitement every time we came back into the building. The rooms were very clean and open with heating. The onsen was quiet and very hot. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. So many food dishes delivered, many with their homegrown veggies. You can tell they truly care.

Fantastic location right at the center of the town. There is an onsen at the basement with natural spring water, which is super convenient as free public onsen have no bathing facilities and are quite cold before dipping into the onsen. Staff are very friendly and greet you every time they see you.

The window is not double layered, which can be quite cold at night as i didn't know how to set up the air conditioner properly at first. It was getting ok after i set up the air-con with the right setting.

A really nice family run minshuku, the hosts are warm and welcoming, and are very helpful if you are new to the region or have questions. Comfy room, amazing breakfast… everything is perfectly organized.

Our 4 days here were a highlight of our 3-week Japan trip. The Tomii family were incredibly friendly and helpful with every request (tea, restaurant reservations, taking delivery of our skis in advance and storing them, etc.) and their meals (we had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner) were extraordinary - creative, locally-sourced, and copious. The facilities were very nice and the location is perfect a block from the center of town.

From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave you feel welcomed and cared for. This is a family run hotel that provides service which exemplifies what the hotel experience should be. The location is perfect, 1 minute walk to the best eateries and onsen area. It’s very close to the ski resort - a short walk. The room is large with a seperate dining area. The large Japanese breakfast was outstanding, the produce used grown on their farm, even the rice! Obviously there was enough nutrition to last the day, we didn’t need to eat until dinner time. We’ll be back for a second visit.
