Bluebird Motel

Electronics and appliances (mini fridge, TV, coffee maker) looked recently replaced. The location was pretty central. There was parking.

Everything else. The whole inside of the property needs new furniture (my bed frame had faded prints and marks on it that made me assume it was from a thrift store), new moulding, and new paint, including the front office, which has a strange smell. The surroundings made me worry about bugs, though I did not see any. Worst was that, while rooms were supposed to be smoke-free, someone had clearly been smoking in or near mine within the past couple days. I asked for air freshener spray and tried to circulate some of the air out of the windows and the fan, but it definitely did not get rid of the smell. Anyone truly sensitive to cigarette smoke could not have stayed there.

I booked and paid for a room late in the evening. They would not let me in.

The woman was very rude.

Great friendly place to stay. Always a pleasure to stay here when I have to travel to Port Alberni. Owners are super friendly and run an amazing place. :-) Thank you...

Did not care for the ferry cost, maybe the Province could invest in a tunnel... There was this great option where you could build an island between the crossing, this could be a new park, tourist trap, university, homes or a manicuring area for Tesla!

BEWARE!

This motel is absolutely horrid. I can’t believe they were able to obtain a business license. Drug addicts coming and going, pink mold in the bathroom, bed bugs. You will end up seriously sick if you stay here.

No pretentions. Old school motel. You get what you pay for
