The food was absolutely amazing and being able to go into a natural onsen everyday was lovely.

Proprietor is a kind and helpful man who is the redeeming quality of this place. Parking was free and close.

The facilities are ancient and appear run down. This is a stay of extreme budgeting as opposed to comfort. If it weren't for the proprietor, the place looks haunted. The room's initial sliding door was bare and is locked by means of a bicycle lock. I got a splinter from the old tatami mats. I tried the laundry which was free and worked but it must not have been very clean as my clothes got some amount of lint on them. The onsen was unusable because it was scalding, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 50 degrees C or more. It was my only night here and I didn't have confidence it could be fixed easily. I didn't enjoy the provided breakfast but mostly because I don't like salmon.

古い、良きをそのままうつしたような旅館。 田舎のじじばばの家と言う感じ。 東山温泉郷がまるで千と千尋の湯宿のよう。 非常に懐かしい感じでした。 朝食も美味しかったし、何よりも風呂の熱さ！ 熱くてめっちゃきもちいい〜 現代にない風情を醸し出す旅館でした。

古き良き旅館なので、今の若い子には厳しい部分があるかもしれません

お部屋にトイレと洗面台が無いので不便でした 温泉は貸切状態でシャワーは1個、熱すぎて入れませんでした

調味料が常温で長期間放置のようだった。冷蔵庫に入れておいてほしかった

If you want to lose yourself in a dream of Taisho or Showa era, this is the place to go. What it may deliver could be beyond your expectation. However, if you just want a comfortable and convenient stay, it is probably not for you. For me, it was absolutely excellent!
