First impression was great as the tide was in and the view very pretty. However as the tide went out the full magnitude of what has taken place over the last couple of years became fully visible. The entire sea in front of us as well as the majority of the beach around the island have been hijacked by locals. Let me explain as it was told to me. During Covid the locals has no visible income so they started farming in the sea. Seaweed and other crops which I don’t know the name of their sticks and farming areas were very clear when the tide goes out. Apparently the lovely photos on the brochure and on booking.com were all taken before Covid. I love swimming in the sea and although there was a pretty infinity pool you had to travel some distance to actually have the opportunity of swimming in the sea. In fact there are very few areas not affected by the farming. Yes loads of surfers come to their island for the waves beyond the breakwaters and they will continue to come but if the locals don’t wake up and realise that the majority of us come for the island and a beach holiday their tourism will be drastically affected. I know that i personally will not recommend this island. I wish to stress that this has no bearing on the staff and their service. I also found the room totally acceptable and although i had a wonderful view from my verandah it was very very disappointing too find that you could not swim in the sea as their were steps right onto the beach. Their so called dream beach was ok but rather small and i was told that when the tide does come in very little of the beach remains.. I did snorkelling excursions over too `Nusa `Pinda which was great. However the rest of the island is in poor state of repair. Roads are shocking and eco tourism just does not exist beaches are littered with rubbish each time the tide goes out and nothing it done to even attempt to tidy it up. In addition rubbish is everywhere and the entire island was disappointing.

the lack of swimming beaches and the total lack of any attempt at keeping the island clean and free from not only rubbish washed up on the beaches but the fact that rubbish was piled up everywhere. The roads were shocking in fact the 400 meter track to the hotel was just that a track. Certainly no island paradise.

Wylan and his family made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived! Our villa was clean and inviting with a stunning view across the pool to the ocean. We had breakfast every morning with a spectacular view and swam in the exceptionally clean pool. Water, tea and coffee was provided in the villa each day, with the villa cleaned each day as well. The staff would organise anything we asked, most restaurants and spas offer free drop of/ pickups, and Wylan was more than happy to book anything for you. He even offered to double check our fast boat booking for us! We loved the fact that it was not right in the middle of town, quiet and peaceful yet only a few minutes away from everything you need. We definately will be back, we have found our new happy place! Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay!

I originally planned to stay for just three nights, but I loved the hotel so much that I decided to extend my stay for another three! The staff is incredibly attentive, and the pool view is absolutely stunning. I feel completely refreshed after my time here! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for tranquility, warmth, and impeccable organization.

That I had to leave

The slightly off the beaten track location meant the hotel felt really chilled and, with its stunning position overlooking the sea with the infinity pool, it was blissful just sitting there. The pool was lovely. All areas were clean Helpful friendly staff. Only a few bungalows, so all very quiet and safe and pleasant. Lovely big shower head on hot strong shower. A couple of minutes up a track was a massage place and a little grocery store, then a little further on, restaurants and more little shops.

It wasn't luxurious, but it was clean.. would have liked towels changed, but perhaps we should have asked.
