"Relaxing stay in Hakone"

Beautifully maintained grounds and facilities. Private and public onsen are wonderful!!

A little long to get to Gora station in Hakone, but it’s very close to the station once you arrive.

The view from our room on the 4th floor was beautiful. The location is excellent, walking distance to the Gora station, The Hakone Open air museum and the Hakone Gora Park

We were given a room on the 1st floor with NO view. We complained, so they upgraded us but we had to pay an extra $50 which we felt was a very cheap move from a customer service perspective, given we were paying over $1000/night. We had paid fpr 1/2 board but over 70% of the food, despite choosing the Western style meal for breakfast was non-edible. very sophisticated and beautifully presented but VERY Japanese. The hotel has beautiful interior design but there are barely any outdoor spaces to sit down, relax and enjoy the views. The onsen baths are both indoors and don't have much of an open view either. If I had to go to Hakone again, which I loved, I would choose a hotel with more open spaces and a food buffet that you can choose from that would include some Japanese and non-Japanese food dishes. You have to pick your exact breakfast and dinner times upon arrival giving you very little flexibility with your waking time and day plans. Booking.com should refund us the $50 for the room upgrade (same room but in a higher floor).

"Cozy retreat in beautiful Gora"

Gorgeous stay in a gorgeous location! Def recommend the room with the private onsen if you can swing it

We have tattoos and couldn't use any of the communal spa areas. Breakfast and dinner are a set menu and doesn't change day to day - but the food is incredible! Just plan accordingly.
