Nabekura Kougen Mori-No-Ie

These cute and cozy cottages are the perfect spot for a Christmas getaway. We arrived in this winter wonderland while it was still light outside and enjoyed the snow around and the atmosphere. It took us a little while to warm up the cottage and get a hang of the wood stove, but eventually we cozied up inside and had a wonderful time. The kitchen was really well equipped with a variety of appliances and utensils. We cooked a delicious comforting curry with the rice and veggies we bought from roadside stations around and a vegan curry base from Noguchi supermarket in Yuzawa, Niigata, where we stopped by on our way to the cottage. I only wish we could have stayed more than just one night, but unfortunately I was a little late making the booking, and it was already sold out.
