Awara Grand Hotel

the onsen baths were nice. the location was convenient. It was quiet in the room. We had a non smoking room but could smell smoke sometimes coming from the hallway or another room.

The bathrooms are extremely small. It would be better to have the sink separate from the bath/toilet. One night, I tried to take a shower and the water never got hot. There was a tripping hazard at the front entry. I tripped and fell on my knee at the right of the front entry where the mid section slopes down (and the step appears). The step was only on the right side of the entry and blended in. We were disappointed that the hotel did not offer a Japanese breakfast.

Onsen is the only great thing there.

No one can understand English and I cannot get breakfast at 9am when front desk the day of check in told us we can get break at the cost of 600 yen each.

Staffs , location , facilities and breakfast were good

VERY CONVENIANT TO TRAIN STATION FOOD WAS GOOD, THE WAITTRESS MADE THE EXPERIANCE GREAT. THE SUPPORT STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HAD GOOD ENGLISH SKILLS. THE DRIVER TO THE TAKKUBIN OFFICE WAS THE BEST EMPLOYEE THERE!! THE MANAGER WAS VERY ACCOMIDATING AND COULD SPEAK ENGLISH. THE PRICE FOR OUR STAY WAS GREAT

THE ENTIRE PROPERTY WAS NOT TOTALLY OPEN YET. THE FRONT DESK NEEDS TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO CAN COMMUNITE IN ENGLISH. AND NOT BE IMPATIENT BECAUSE WE DID NOT UNDERSTAND JAPANESE WELL. THERE WAS POOR SUPPORT FOR SENDING LUGGAGE TO ANOTHER HOTEL. THEY HAD NO PREPAID TAKKUBIN SERVICE AVAILABLE, THE FIRST IN TEN YEARS OF TRAVEL IN JAPAN. THEY ONLY OFFERRED C.O.D. SERVICE WHICH IS RATHER HARD IF YOU ARE NOT THERE TO RECEIVE THE DELIVERY!!!

SHORT 5 MINUTES TO THE TRAIN STATION MUCH CLOSER THAN THE LAST TIME I STAYED IN AWARA

FRONT DESK SHOULD HAVE SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH IF THEY WANT TO ATTRACT MORE ENGLISH SPEAKING GUEST. NOT BEING ABLE TO TAKKUBIN LUGGAGE DIRECTLY FROM THE PROPERTY. THE ENTIRE PROPETY WAS NOT OPEN, PARTS WERE NOT OPEN AS SHOWN IN THE ON LINE PHOTOS
