"Japanese alpine heaven"

A beautiful property, in an incredibly scenic location, with amazingly friendly and attentive staff. The food is also excellent, with beautiful presentation. Perfect place to stay if visiting the snow monkey park, or you just want a relaxing break with a traditional onsen experience!

"Perfect"

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast and dinner. Room is big and clean. Staff make up our room when we were having dinner and breakfast. Nice onsen.

"A good stay for private onsen & visit to Snow Monkey Park"

The staff were very friendly and helpful, from reception to the meal service. We love the private onsen with indoor and outdoor options. A nice meal too. It is walking distance to Snow Monkey Park entrance. A great place to stay before visiting the park in the morning. The free shuttle service to the station was very useful.

The charging point is limited and mostly at corner. But it's a small matter that can be managed.

"Beautiful experience"

Staff was incredibly polite and helpful. Food is 5 star quality, we were served a 10 courses meal for dinner and even the kids menu was delicious. Great breakfast and nice onsen.

Room was too hot because of the heaters in the bathrooms being on at full blast. We had to leave the window open at night to lower the temperature.

The Japanese food was excellent and beautifully presented. The dining room staff were also so lovely! The private onsen was wonderful. Plus the swimming pool a bonus! The courtyard garden was so beautiful I really liked the proximity to the snow monkey park too; v convenient

"A wonderful relaxing ryokan near the mountains."

Beautiful garden, big rooms, fantastic Onsen, near the monkey park, very nice staff with decent English, awesome food. In short, everything. Best place we stayed in Japan.

"Overpriced and stuffy"

You can’t get closer to the monkeys and it’s very quiet.

They use tradition as a coverup for lack of renovation. The room was good but the bath, the corridors or the pool were simply run down and badly in need of a redo! The entire hotel has somewhat of a 90ties USSR vibe. The food is excellent however but if you didn’t book, they send you away to eat… 7/11 was honestly suggested!!
