The Hotel Onsen was nice as was the breakfast. It's location just out of the town area meant that it was quiet.

"The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The hotel was grand!"

The location was near the park with the natural hot spring which was great. The meals had many small portions of beautifully presented food. It was very comfortable to stay here.

The dinner was elaborate and sadly, took so long, that we missed getting to the park with the natural hot springs even though we started dinner at 6. We thought they closed at 8, but in fact, the last entry was at 7:30. The dining staff (not from Japan) were too subservient which made us uncomfortable. Lovely, but up a steep hill. It was a bit of a dark slog at night.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and provided excellent customer service. The Japanese breakfast was so good. We enjoyed soaking in the onsen after long days exploring the area. The hotel is close to downtown and restaurants.

We really liked the hotel. It's an older facility and the futon beds were hard. But we enjoyed our stay.

I enjoyed the japanese style accommodation,food and the onsen. Being an asian I am used to having rice for breakfast. I am not sure if the hotel provides choice of western meals.

Distance walking uphill from Kusatsu Bus Station with luggage to get to the hotel.
