We had two tents, with three people in each room, air conditioning in both. Our stay at the camps was roughly 12 hours, meeting place was convenient, with very clean bathrooms, and the 4x4 ride to the camp was fun. All hosts were friendly and pleasant. The camel ride was great; unfortunately it was cloudy, so could not see the sunset. The dinner and breakfast options were delicious. Camp was not crowded, so felt very private. It was a pleasant stay.

Shower in one of the rooms was not working, they fixed it the next day, but we were leaving in the AM, so it didn't really impact us. The meeting place does not have effective air conditioning, although it is running, the doors are open, so the area is uncomfortably warm. The locking system of the tents is awkward, a bit unnerving that someone can lock you from the outside while you're inside. It is in the Sahara, so bugs and insects are to be expected, but seeing them on your bed is not fun.

We are a family with two kids, aged 6 and 9, and we spent two unforgettable nights at the Golden Camp. We stayed together in one spacious family tent and had the best time! It’s important to note that, due to government regulations aimed at protecting the natural environment, no camps are allowed in the middle of the dunes anymore. All camps, including Golden Camp, are located just at the edge of the dunes — and we truly appreciate this effort to preserve the desert landscape. To reach the camp, you’re picked up in Merzouga at a designated meeting point — a lovely spot with a swimming pool and restaurant, perfect for a short rest before heading out. From there, you can choose how you'd like to reach the camp: by 4x4, camel, buggy, or quad. These are optional and come at an additional cost. The camel ride takes about 40 minutes and is a magical experience, while the 4x4 gets you there in about 20 minutes. All of these transport options — as well as any other desert tours or experiences — can be booked directly through Golden Camp, which keeps everything simple and stress-free. They really take care of everything. The camp itself is beautifully set up, with around 20 tents in total. Each tent is equipped with air conditioning and hot water, making the stay very comfortable even in the desert climate. Meals are served in a large communal tent, and we absolutely loved the food — it was delicious and plentiful. Alcohol is also available for those who want it. What made our stay truly special were the people. The staff treated us like family and made us feel completely at home. Their warmth, kindness, and hospitality were extraordinary. Our kids didn’t want to leave — they had tears in their eyes as we said goodbye. After dinner, guests gather around the campfire for live Berber music and drumming — a magical and unforgettable experience under the stars. We can’t recommend Golden Camp enough — it was the perfect family adventure, full of heart, beauty, and joy.
