Dunes Luxury Camp

To sleep a step from the desert is an amazing experience. We were just 3-4 tents and the staff was super nice and was always there to help us. We did a lot in just 4 days

A little expensive, but it’s worth the price

Sehr freundliches Personal im Camp und direkte Lage an der Wüste. Die Zelte sind komfortabel und der Badezimmerbereich sehr modern.

Leider gibt es keinen schattigen Bereich, in dem man sich entspannen kann.

Staff was excellent. Hamid took good care of us.

The property was very clean and the stay was top tier. When we arrived, Barack was very helpful in guiding us to the location despite arriving at such a late hour. Hamid was also a great and friendly host, and we really appreciated his help throughout our stay. The meals were excellent as were the local tour and sunset camel ride!

The tents are really nice - large comfy beds, hot showers and they were really cosy. The food we had was also really good for what I could eat. The location was not really as remote as I imagined with camps very much on the edge of the dunes and amongst others but I think my expectations were high having done a similar experience in Jordan at a truly remote desert camp. It is a beautiful camp at night though. Staff were friendly.

This will seem negative but I did enjoy our stay. I just want to make fellow travellers aware for their bookings. A few things were not as advertised: it says in the listing that a safari game drive and daily walks were included in the price. This is not the case - it is bed and breakfast only. The booking confirmation also says cash is not accepted - only card payments. It is actually the opposite. If you want to pay by card, there is a 5% fee. We also requested vegan meals and unfortunately were served eggs / dairy with the first evening dinner and after explaining dinner on the second night was corrected (I think) but breakfast was still very egg heavy! My husband eats dairy / eggs so was able to eat these but I felt guilty that these had been prepared for us :-( I think the final thing to note is not much information is provided about activities. I think I would probably recommend booking an organised trip with a camp stay included rather than booking here separately because when we asked about activities we were kind of told you can do whatever you want... Because the booking said a game drive was included and there would be daily guided walks I hadn't really planned anything at all so hadn't really researched what we should do so I felt a bit disappointed we didn't make the most of our time in Erg Chebbi. Our room was also right next to the camp fire where the music was performed in the evening - a bad choice given we had a baby with us so a little more thought to that would have been nice considering the camp was not full on either night.

Friendly attentive staff. Delicious food. Clean accommodations. Beautiful scenery!
