The breakfast was good.

If I could give this riad 0 stars, I would. The riad is down a back alley with no signage. They tell you to follow signs for le bain bleu, but that doesn’t take you to where the riad is. If you’re lucky to find the entrance, the “sign” for the riad is written “kharez” sloppily on a wall in paint. To make matters worse, I received a “welcome” text from the owner telling me there would be a 20€ charge for late arrivals. This is not mentioned anywhere on their booking.com page and that was admitted to me by the owner. My flight got in late and had I known that there would be a charge I would have booked somewhere else. While at the riad, I wanted to ask the woman working there two questions: if we could do breakfast and if I could stay an hour past check out on the day I left. I called for her from the ground floor of the riad and she was nowhere to be found after breakfast was served. The next day, when I was supposed to check out, I FINALLY saw her during breakfast. I asked her if I could check out at twelve and she agreed. I went back to my room to rest and shower, and at 11:20 I hear her yelling at me through the door to check out while I’m in the shower. I explain that I asked her for late check out just that morning and she says she didn’t understand. It seemed pretty clear to me when she said okay to my question and nodded her head that she did understand. I even repeated the question back to her, as I know English isn’t everyone’s first language, and she confirmed it was okay. When I spoke about my issues with the owner, she rudely brought up the fact that I am American, but the irony of this is that the owner doesn’t even live in Morocco, but in BELGIUM. This riad turned my what should have been a relaxing time in Marrakesh into a mess, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

De locatie was fantastisch! Verscholen in een van de kleine steegjes van de oude stad. Een heel rustig plekje met een dakterras om bij te komen van de drukte. Alles was mooi schoon en we werden ontvangen door een hele attente gastvrouw en lieve gastheer.

Lovely breakfast with freshly cooked eggs and pancakes, delivered to the table on the balcony just outside our door. Staff were so helpful arranging a tuk tuk transfer to our second riad. Also very good arrangements to pick us up from the taxi on arrival.

The bed was a little hard and the woollen blankets a little uncomfortable as someone used to a duvet, but we slept well nevertheless!

Essaaida war super nett und hilfsbereit, die Lage ist traumhaft, die Ausstattung des Zimmers und die Dachterrasse lassen keine Wünsche übrig, die Kommunikation war einfach und flexibel. Volle Empfehlung.

Die Unterkunft war wirklich eine Oase, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sauber ! Die Gastgeber waren auch super freundlich, hatten gute Tipps und haben den Aufenthalt noch besser gemacht! Danke, wir kommen gerne wieder 🙏🏼
