Riad dar Kirami is in a perfect location within a quieter, peaceful neighbourhood of the Medina and yet within easy walking distance of Bab Guissa (gate), the main sights and the Souk. Our flight landed during the evening so Abdou kindly arranged for his brother, Mehdi, to collect us from the airport and then walk us to the Riad. He also made a dinner reservation on the terrace of a lovely local restaurant, again arranging for someone to show us the way through the myriad of alleys within the Medina. As 2 women travellers visiting the Medina for the first time, particularly after a long travelling day, this attentive hospitality was very much appreciated by both my daughter and myself as it meant we could familiarise ourselves with the area in the dark and ensured that our first evening was a safe and pleasant experience. The Riad itself is as beautiful as others have described it and, after hot days independently exploring the Medina, we particularly enjoyed the breeze on the rooftop terrace. The Moroccan breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Most notably, Abdou is the perfect host, always on hand to answer any queries and offer genuine helpful recommendations. Thank you Abdou for welcoming us into your home. We wish you and all your family a happy and peaceful Al-Hijra.

Abdou, our host, was extremely professional. He was always smiling and ready to give us information and advice about everything. The house itself felt like a museum — it had been renovated with great care and attention by Abdou. We felt at home immediately, which is not something you find everywhere. Breakfast was a typical Moroccan breakfast and very enjoyable. For me, the best part was the terrace: beautiful views over the city and plenty of shade, which was perfect because it was very hot. Great value for money — honestly, 11 out of 10.

The only thing worth mentioning is that the riad had a slight unpleasant smell. However, Fes is a very old city and this seems to be quite common everywhere (you can even notice it in the streets), so it didn’t bother us much. Abdou had done everything he could to improve it. The riad is located on a side street, which we actually liked because it felt authentic and full of locals. Just make sure to follow Abdou’s advice on how to get to the city center (there are two ways), because on the lower street there are many young kids trying to scam tourists by saying that the way is closed just to get your attention . It is also very convenient for getting a taxi if you want to go outside the medina.

An unforgettable stay in a stunning riad at the heart of the medina. The breakfast was exceptional, the comfort impeccable, and the hospitality beyond compare. Abdou and his brother went above and beyond to make us feel at home, always available with a smile and ready to help. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Nous avons passé 10 jours délicieux au Riad. Abdu nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux et s'est montré toujours présent pour répondre à nos questions et nous conseiller. Le riad est une maison typique du vieux Fès, magnifiquement rénovée, qui reste fraîche même par fierté chaleur. Son emplacement permet de visiter facilement la médina à pieds.

My stay at Riad Dar Kirami was flawless. Abdul is incredibly responsive and messaged me on WhatsApp immediately after booking. Since my flight arrived late at 11 PM, he arranged a pick-up service, which was great because finding the address in the Medina at night would have been difficult on my own. The area is completely safe. The Riad is beautifully quiet and peaceful at night, and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. The daily breakfast was excellent, and all of Abdul's local recommendations were completely spot on. I highly recommend this riad!
