Your family camp

This is quite the experience from the moment you start your camel ride to sunset visits and enjoying camp under the moonlight. One surprise was the music performance and meet up with other camps. Breakfast was your average Moroccan breakfast. It included a lot of baked goods but was more limited when it came to fruit or protein.

A space heater in the tents would have been a nice bonus. Wifi did not work great as other guests have noted. Be sure to check in advance for the price of add-ons (camel rides, ATV rides, car transfers, etc.)

We had a great time in the camp, our accommodation was excellent and beyond expectations. When we arrived at the private parking lot (which is free) the friendly staff treated us to tea, while we waited for transportation to the camp. We took the quad and our guide Esmail guided us around the dunes for an hour on the quad. Then we arrived at the camp where we were warmly greeted with tea and fruit. The camp is located in a great location near the dunes. We also found time to board on the sand. After a great dinner we went to sleep in a very well-equipped room and very comfortable. In the morning when we woke up, we sat on camels and rode them watching the beautiful sunrise. Hasan was a great help to us, for all inquiries he was available and responded very quickly. I can only say that he and his entire family run a very good business. I definitely recommend it.

When we booked a host of the camp contacted us really fast to see if we were interested to go from the meetingpoint on camel to the camp. He provided us all the information of other activities as well. (We only booked 1 day before so for other activities like quadriding or 4x4 tour it may take some preparing so they had to know if we were interested). When we arrived in the camp we got a beautiful tent with private bathroom (shower and toilet). There is hot water. We tried to do a lot of activities and they are all worth their price. The food was delicious and there was a lot of food so you will not be hungry. Me and my wife were on a honeymoon tour and in one of the conversations with a guide of the camp we told them. The same evening they surprised us with a delicious cake with our names written on it. It was a beautiful surprise from the people who became good friends.

There was supposed to be wifi in the camp but because of problems with the operator it didn't work. Not something the people of the camp had any responsability in. They were happy to share their network a littlebit with us when we needed internet. But you stay in a camp in the sahara for the expierience so being without internet for 1 or 2 days is not the end of the world. The beds are clean but you can find a little sand in them. You are in sahara so nothing can change this. It didn't bother us.

Excellent stay and great value for money! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This is the BEST camp in the dessert. The room was so comfortable we had a perfect nights sleep. The food and entertainment were wonderful and the hosts Hassan and Mouha are such lovely people who will attend to your every need. Very professional - we had a memorable time! We stay at this camp for one 1 night it was more than what we expected, the staff is hospital and helpful, the food was the best in Morocco, room is clean and nice with confortable beds, the camp is located in great location, it's far from the town. During our stay we tried some desert activities: camel ride for the sunrise and ATVs quad biking on sand dunes, we also chose to go and back from the camp by car which funny and exiting adventure. Akabar Luxury Desert Camp was a great find. We loved everything: staff, food, location, our tent, tours, sunset and sunrise views. Overwhelming friendly staff. They all work so hard, kept everything as clean as possible, made fantastic food, great music during the campfires and were super kind. Mouha was so hospitable and made our stay unforgettable. Dinner and breakfast were all top notch. We stayed for 2 nights and none of the food was the same. Beautifuly decorated. Authentic experience.

The camp and tent were very comfortable and the staff very friendly and made the best to make us feel welcomed. Great Quad tour in the dessert!!
