Quinta Laranja - Turismo Rural -

Alojamento rústico no meio da natureza em local bastante calmo.

Acesso difícil, rampa muito íngreme para aceder ao alojamento. Muito difícil descer e subir com malas.

Children will appreciate pool, trampoline, table football, small kids may like sandpit, also have sheeps. It is an old house in rural calm location run by a friendly family. Yes, certainly old houses have some pitfalls. That is part of the game. Yet the owner is very helpful and will help if you encounter any problems.

Mosquitos - bring an electric diffusor. Building is in steep hill which means you may have a nice view from a window but if you have small kids then choose a proper appartment as some may have steep stairs.

It's well located, not far from Obidos, Alcobaça and Caldas de Rainha where you have all services you need. It's also not too far from the coast and easy to visit places like Nazaré and Peniche.

Our apartment was dirty, humid and not well maintained. We booked this place based on previous very positive reviews, but apparently the owners changed and now it's quite different. I understand of the new owners don't have the budget to fix everything now, but there are things that don't cost any money to maintain the place, like cleaning overall and under the beds, fix a tap, or removing all the green (moisture) border of the swimming pool as an example. We spent most of the time away and not there on purpose because we didn't like to stay there or use the pool at all. The place needs quite some work, it has potential but it was very disappointing. Also, it would be good of the owner came to ask how we where doing there and show some interest in making our stay a bit more comfortable, but he didn't. I hope this helps him to realise that he needs to change in order to keep people coming.

Beautiful location with a great concept. Fun for the entire family.

Nothing to not like.

We really enjoyed our stay at Quinta Laranja in the cottage Casa de Veranda. The accommodation is spacious and especially the private garden and lounge area at the roof top are very nice. Heated pool makes it also a nice place to stay in September.

Although the owners have booklets with information in the common area, there is not that much to do in the surroundings. So you will definitely need a car for restaurants or to visit towns like Nazare, Batalha or Tomar. The fact that it is a rural location, also having its own sheep, does come with the disadvantage of many flies. Not in the house, but in the garden and at the pool.
