South West Motel

The owner was very helpful and recommended good places to eat and details about the unit, personally taking us to our room. The sweetest part of our stay was the REAL life size drip Coffee maker with complimentary good quality coffee (not the standard "brown water" coffee supplied by big box franchise hotels). We enjoyed our morning coffee while listening to Fleetwood Mac on our personal vintage record player supplied in room in this gem of a retro restored motel. Highly recommend!

When you arrive at South West Motel you are greeted by Ron who runs the place with his girlfriend and immediately you feel like you are staying at a friends place. The charm that you first feel continues as you settle into your room where you find home-y touches like coffee and sugar in canisters and notes about local restaurants. It’s not fancy but it feels like home and that’s the best medicine when you’re on the road. The heat worked great for us as the temps dropped to 30 degrees. Much to our delight there is no pet fee so our 12 year old yellow lab was welcomed and loved as well.

Nothing! We can’t wait to stay here again when we’re back in the area.

My room at Southwest Motel was exceptionally clean and attractively decorated (unlike 'sterile' motels with numbers in their names). The staff person (owner) was friendly, personable and informative. He even took me to my room and explained all the ammenities to me.

The toilet handle didn't want to flush after the first time...but it was not an issue for me to take the top off the tank and "pull the chain" myself. (It was late at night and I didn't want to make a call about it.) However, in the morning, when I went to take a shower, the water pressure was only a trickle. As I have long hair, a trickle wasn't going to work for me, so I redressed and checked out. (The shower issue did keep me from booking a second night. However, all that to say, I was still very pleased with the motel. It's the cleanest one I've ever stayed in, and the TLC was quite evident in how the towels were folded, the choice of bedding and artwork, etc. It was quite homey and comfortable. I would stay again, and likely will. (I'll just be sure ro check the plumbing ammenities out before unpacking my bags.)

It was a sweet throw back kinda of place. Comfortable beds. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

We didn’t hear the Train!!!

Cozy grandmas guest room vibe comfy bed with a homie quilt and colored towels after a very hot shower and heater to warm us thru the night. Keep in mind train close by and road traffic bit did t bother us and great food at Blake’s lotta burger 1-block east of hotel This is an affordable privately owned hubby n wife property so give them a try you won’t be disappointed:)

Staff was great. Able to put our group (3 rooms) together. Fit our needs perfectly.

Refrigerator leaked but otherwise the room was great.
