The smell in the rooms. The carpet needs to be removed and the a/c need to be cleaned. No one at the desk to unlock room, since the lock automatically.

No hotel is perfect. This one is older and shows it's age a little just because it is NY state. The freeze thaw winter evils hurt every structure because it is where it is. The lady who ran the desk was nice enough to explain the construction and history of the building when I asked. In the late 90s and early 2000s we were lucky enough to be able to have a country weekend at the New York state fire Academy in Mountour Falls. Yes not everything is perfect. The service we received was very good. Every staff member was polite on a tough weekend. Nascar fans for the weekend are a very different bunch of people. It was also mother's day weekend. We returned home from Saturday night races and walking from the vehicle I noticed a pizza place. My husband asked what was for dinner. I said open the door there is a pizza place. He searched the internet and found it wasn't just a pizza place it was a noted Italian restaurant too. Literally across the street from our door. Again wasn't perfect but comfortable enough I would stay there again. Per my husband and son the pool was impressive but sadly due to the time it was open they were only able to use it once after we returned from a race. The desk clerk said it was a work in progress hours wise. The last time I was on vacation personally was six months after Hurricane Katrina hit. I stayed in a hotel in Biloxi Mississippi. My family of three lived at the hotel for three days and two nights. Brightly lit parking lot.

With it being older the walls and floors creak and you know when the young kids living above you aren't happy. On a good note they were kids went to bed at a decent time.

In the down town area, walking distance to most all amities

Room had an odd odor, bed mattress was old and quite uncomfortable, TV remote would only turn on and off with no channel change, soap provided in the room was brick hard and odd smelling...
