We hadden een rond bed, dat was een leuke toevoeging.

Het was prima, maar ook echt niks meer dan dat. Het programma was best wel gehaast. Het avond programma was niet aanwezig. Dat was vooral jammer omdat het oud en nieuw was. We konden beter vroeg gaan slapen omdat we de volgende dag weer vroeg op moesten. Daarom hebben we om 21.00 oud en nieuw gevierd met goedkope rode wijn, en Happy New Year van ABBA.... De bus zet je weer af in Hanoi, maar er was helaas geen enkele mogelijkheid om ons onderweg af te zetten terwijl het wel op de route was.

"Comfortable luxury with loads of charm"

This boat isn’t as flash as many of the others in Ha Long Bay but don’t let that put you off. What it lacks in modernity it more than makes up for in comfort, service, and CHARM. I was surprised at the great size of my room and especially the bathroom. It’s so lovely having a shower with the porthole window open! The food was excellent and so were the whole crew - a really friendly and warm team. We were really, really well looked after. I had a great time with my one night/two day trip.

It didn’t bother me but just fyi that the itinerary is pretty gruelling and there’s not a lot of down time to relax on the boat. If you want time to relax on board maybe consider a two night stay. From what I’ve read I think most of the cruises are pretty hectic in terms of itinerary so it’s maybe just the way it is! Also, if you’ve been to a lot of caves before I recommend skipping the cave trip and use that time to relax on the boat. The cave was super over run with tourists and we had to queue for an hour and then once inside it was so busy and loud that it wasn’t that enjoyable. Not the fault of the cruise, just something to be aware of. Loved the pearl farm and kayaking afterwards though! Was much quieter there.

Our itinerary had fantastic activities. We kayaked right off of a pearl farm, saw an amazing cave and did a bit of hiking. All in 24 hours. Popeye was a great guide and the crew of the boat, including bartender Dat were all really kind and friendly.
