Swallows Nest Country Cottages

Potentially a great set of holiday cottages in a secure location supported by friendly staff and a nice breakfast. However we decided that the premises - spacious and with plenty of bed space and two bathrooms - were in need of a 'refurb'. The stove in our room - not needed in March - was out of order. When we arrived at the security gate it wouldn't open due to lack of credit on the curious phone system they use. Another guest helped us out. There is a pool, easy chairs to sit around in and your own barbecue. As I say, lots of potential! Storms River is a small place but there is a nice pub for a meal (+ other places). We did the Suspension Bridge walk and had a meal on the beach. Tsitsikamma (sp?) is a lovely location with great mountains, wonderful coastline.

Refresh needed. The self-help bar couldn't even manage a Coca Cola. Unique in SA? In contrast to other places in SA Swallows Nest lacked that attention to detail and stood out in comparison.

Tolles Appartement in schöner Anlage.

Das beim Frühstück kein Käse und Schinken verfügbar war. Aussage wird heute erst im Laufe des Tages geliefert. Sonst aber alles prima.

Nette eingezäunte Anlage am Ortseingang von Stormsrivier. Die Zimmer bzw Appartments sind in 6 kleinen Häuschen untergebracht, die sich in einem Garten um einen kleinen Pool gruppieren. Große Räume, gut für Selbstversorger. Sehr nette und freundliche Gastgeberin. Sicherer Parkplatz im Innenhof.

Die Ausstattung ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und wenn man abends auf der Terrasse sitzt, hört man den Verkehrslärm von der Schnellstraße. Der Pool lädt nicht wirklich zum Baden ein. Das Frühstück ist sehr übersichtlich und man kann es nur drinnen einnehmen, da einem sonst marodierende Affen das Essen vom Tisch klauen würden.

Bett war okay

Es war nicht sauber, im Bad war sehr viel Schimmel, der Pool war milchig trüb und nicht benutzbar. Trotzdem lief die Pumpe nur stundenweise. Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren fleckig (vmtl gewaschen, aber einfach nicht sauber, Stockflecken...). Ich kann die positiven Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen und frage mich nach einigen Erfahrungen in verschiedenen Unterkünften langsam, ob hier Bewertungen gefaked werden. Frühstück ist einfach Geschmackssache, für mich war es nichts, mein Mann fand's okay.

The breakfast was very good and the location was excellent , only a very short walk to the general stores and local bars / restaurants . A delightful small village .

The property is functional and practical for a one night / short stay . Everything worked as should , staff were excellent . There is clearly some renovation work being undertaken at the rear of the cottage (4) we stayed in . This did not impact on our stay . Overall the property was a little dated but very clean . With some tweaks and modernisation this could be a gem .
