1). We stayed in a tent near the reception area/parking area. No issues with noise. 2). The common areas were very nice with a smokey wood odor. 3). Breakfast had eggs to order. Enjoyed breakfast and lunch; however, dinner was outside and buffet style with limited choices. 4). The morning and evening game drives were amazing with Charlie. He is a 23 year lad from the UK bursting with energy. We learned so much about plants, animal behavior, poaching, etc. Had early coffee breaks and evening sundowners. So much fun. Got close to the animals and could spend more time since it is off road and a private reserve. More hands on. Believe the property has 3 safari vehicles that drive to different areas; however, all were lined up one night to watch three lion brothers walk by. Just awesome! Note: there is a tracker in the evening. 5). Received warm towels from Crystal on the return from the game drives. 6). There is a work out area with limited equipment. 7). It took a few minutes to get through Shaw’s Gate. The conservation fee of R500 per day is paid directly to the lodge. 8). We celebrated an anniversary and birthday while there. The staff decorated our bed and had a personal card each night. This was so sweet and touching. Really appreciated this. 9. There are 2 chairs and a table on the porch area if you want to sit outside; however, it’s much nicer to sit in the common area near the pool area where there is a view. 10. Communication was great.

1). The roads to the property are not tar. Definitely need a med SUV or larger. It’s a 1.5 hr drive from Skukuza airport. We had a Toyota Cross. There was no covered parking. 2). Would not go during rainy season. Received a small amount of rain and the safari jeep got caught in ruts. 3). The tent was small with no seating inside and no view. 4). If you land in Skukuza and on return you will have to paid the Kruger conservation fee. That’s 2 days. We purchased the wildcard online since we went to another resort that had game drives to Kruger. Note: it took longer to get through Kruger Gate.

Perfect location for Sabi Sands and big five encounters. Amazing relaxing and break out areas with views or water holes ….. visited by giraffe and hippos while we sipped our coffee.

Das Personal und gerade die Guides, wie Derek, waren super nett! Wir hatten leider das Problem, dass unser Lufthansa Flug am eigentlichen Abend nicht gestartet ist. Das Management hat es dann trotzdem machbar gemacht, dass wir für zwei Nächte anreisen konnten, auch wenn wir nur eine Nacht in dem Zelt hatten. Die Safaris waren Mega! Haben alle 5 Big Fives gesehen. Das Essen ist auch sehr lecker 😊. Wichtig war auch das Mückennetz am Bett, weil sich doch der ein oder andere Käfer ins Zelt geschlichen hat.

Die Transferpreise sind schon sehr sehr teuer. Das liegt aber aber daran, dass diese externe Anbieter sind.

The location inside Sabi Sands is excellent and the lodge is very cozy, well-organized, and impeccably clean. The game drives were a highlight, the guides are extremely knowledgeable and made every safari enriching, always explaining the animals and their behavior in a very engaging way. The staff was consistently warm and attentive throughout our stay.

The only point that could be improved is the lunch offering, which felt a bit limited and not as refined as the rest of the services, considering the high overall quality of the experience.

Lovely tent and hospitality. Great location with a water hole in front of the pool and lounge deck. Game drives were fantastic, with frequent sightings of rhinos, leopards, elephants and many other animals. As noted by others, there are different territories in sabi sands, and each lodge is only allowed to traverse in its own property. Therefore there is less cooperation than in other reserves like manyeleti but for umkumbe there were still 7-8 cars so not a big issue. Would always come again given the value you get for the price!
