Closer to the beach you can not get! We stayed in the room right by the pool. Fantastic spot! The staff even made us a fire on the beach to 'braai' as we South Africans like to do! The A/C was a bit slow though.

that the kitchen wasnt usable apart from the jug, had to ask for another cup as there was only one. Having to ask for toilet paper as there was no spare.

The photos you see are 10-15 years old. The newest building isn't in some of the photos but that building also needs a desperate paint job. It looks like no maintenance has been performed for at least 5 years. Our bungalow had a door that didn't lock securely, including the door handle falling off when locking the padlock, so your belongings could get stolen easily. The other bungalow was the same. Maybe it's time to replace the doors with a standard door that locks properly. Our toilet cistern only fills 1/4 of the way so it takes multiple flushes. The shower drain was blocked, flooding the bathroom, which we weren't expecting since the shower was barely a luke warm trickle. Walls were flaking off onto the floor.

l could open my door, look over the pool to the ocean and watch fishing boats sail by and walk past the pool straight onto the beach into the ocean, plunge in and be surrounded by coral and brightly- coloured tropical fish

Bed was comfortable and the room was lovely and big. The airconditioning was good! Nice location on.the beach. The pool was superb.

Two things will prevent me staying here again. 1) There was no water in the bathroom or shower on our last day. The manager was notified but failed to get it fixed. So therefore we couldnt have a shower or wash on our last day. If a simple explanation was given then perhaps it would had given me more understanding. But I paid a lot of money to stay here for the facilities given so I had expected some effort to fix it or a simple explanation. 2) The taxi mafia in Armed is attrocious. We waited outside the hotel for our Grab taxi upon leaving. However a local man patrolling the street on his motorbike scared our booked Grab taxi away! Then he forced us to take HIS driver at double the price of the Grab taxi!! I also did not recover my money paid to the Grab so.it was an expensive day for me. I have no problem supporting local business if given a choice, which we were not, and if the price was competative, which it wasn't. So that is my last visit to Amed. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. The place is not worth another visit.
