The room was fantastic and the bed very comfortable - loved having an authentic Ryokan experience - loved our little moss garden.

It’s not close to any of the subway stations, making getting around more dependent on taxis unless you tack on a 20 min walk to and from each day.

Le Ryokan a beaucoup de charme avec son petit jardin intérieur et ses chambres très joliment agencées. Il est très bien situé dans le quartier de Gion. Ses hôtes sont charmants et font tout pour que le séjour se passe du mieux possible.

Comme partout au Japon, l’espace pour les valises reste limité mais une fois qu’on le sait !

Beutiful place right on the side of the Gion district. Many Temples in walking distance. Shopping street in walking distance. Many restaurants arround. Very god traditional breakfast (for western breakfast there is also the possibility to go in a close Cafe). Very friendly and helpful staff! It was already my second time in Gion Oyado Kikutani.

Can get a little noisy in the room if the neighbors aren't considerate, since the rooms are thin-walled.

Gorgeous Ryokan, beautiful decor, lovely welcome, gorgeous rooms and bathroom, comfortable beds, including the futon, so calm and quiet, wonderful Japanese breakfast. Fantastic location.

早餐太简陋，超市买的冻鱼，用热水划开塑料袋

The combination of Japanese and European worked really well. The rooms were a good size and the garden was beautiful next to our room. The bath was lovely to soak in and afternoon drinks and rest area was a wonderful touch. Walk out the door and you are in a quieter part of old Kyoto. Close to gardens and shrines. Coffee shops meters away and cobble streets. We were in heaven wondering about. We love this place
