The main room was large and comfortable. It had a tasteful Japanese style with generous natural light.

The booking information described it as a hotel. It’s actually more like an Airbnb with no host on the site. We arrived to an empty house, waiting for someone to show up, having arrived prior to the check in time in the listing. We phoned Booking.com and were told that the host had sent a message earlier that day through Booking.com stating there would be no host and we could enter the property on our own. As we were traveling, we didn’t receive the message. Kind of a mess for the arrival.

The kitchen, although quite dirty was free to use and offered amenities such as tea and chopsticks

Location is far, especially since it is some distance from a station, it would better to stay near a station further away. The house is very noisy and we could hear the sounds of other guests throughout the night. The room is small but passable. The blanket was for 1 person, so we were not able to sleep well.

The location was good to see temples and to go hiking.

The climb up the hill. Nobody there to greet us. No complementary ride from the station. Poor quality linen and towels. No toiletry kits. The property is getting run down. No security.
