Property Notes

Please note, Agama Tented Camp is accessible via a 6.2 mi dirt road. There is limited cell phone reception in the area and the tents do not have electricity. Lanterns are provided in the tents, however guests should bring their own torches and head lamps. The dining area is powered by a generator and solar panels.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions. Managed by a private host A deposit may be required at the property.

"Excellent base for spectacular flower displays"

Location near the Namaqualand reserve was excellent although the drive from the tar road to the camp was long. Hosts looked after us well with good cooked breakfast and advice for seeing the flowers. There were flowers and animals I the camp's own farm. Hot water bottles in the beds helped alleviate the cold and hot water for coffee delivered to our tents in the morning was welcome.

Long way from tar road. It was bitterly cold after sundown in mid-August. Not the fault of the lodge and they made great effort to keep us warm with log fires and hot water bottles in the beds. But, winter travellers, be warned.

"Life and living under the stars"

Uniquely beautiful setting. The baby ostriches and meerkats were special sightings on our drive in. Victor and Linda were exceptional hosts.

Allow time for a slow 10km drive into the property.

"such a gem tucked away in the fynbos, really nice little extra personal touches and magnificent food"

Really out of the way along a 10km jeep track but once you are there it is a little paradise. Owners and staff were absolutely top drawer, amazing little personal touches and treats during the stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Just be careful if you have a car without sufficient ground clearance, 10km jeep track to property. A normal SUV will be fine

Location, friendly owners, decent food

Zero useable lighting in the tents. Unable to read with provided lighting. Bathroom very exposed and bitterly cold at night

"The accommodation was totally overpriced and certainly not suitable in winter."

The meals were excellent and the hosts were very friendly and helpful with attention to small details.

The road to the property was terrible. The tents had open to the elements bathrooms which were very unpleasant in cold winter weather and the accommodation was not satisfactory considering the price of R4,900/night.
