Tathra Hotel & Motel

It was very clean, close to the ocean and comfortable

The sofa bed as a longe was not very comfortable to sit on

Room was fine, motel vibe, not sure about the price for what it is..

The whole experience felt very expensive for what it was. The room faced the carpark and was not very sound-proof - we could hear the neighbours’ conversations. We took our towels to the beach and they didn’t give us fresh ones.. The bathroom wasn’t spotless. All this would have been fine except that the price felt excessive

The view from the hotel room (Ocean view room) was stunning. Plenty of parking available. The water pressure was amazing. The room had none of the bistro or bar noise. Climate controls worked well. The team were helpful and offered every assistance. The clifftop walking track just behind the hotel was packed with wildlife, we saw kangaroos, wallabies, and an echidna. As an unannounced bonus we saw the race leaders for the Sydney to Hobart boxing day race from the bed early in the morning. The bistro on site was amazing and had a number of tasty dietary options and the team really cared about dietary sensitivity and made sure to check everything, and did it in a way that made us feel cared for.

The hallway noise carried but did not negatively impact us. There was compressor noise in one room but the team moved us to another room and arranged to get the compressor checked.

They don’t provide microwave like other motels. No air con for $200ish price per night is so expensive for me. Like other motels provide facilities and cheaper price.

Hotel has extensive menu for food choices, I ate there twice and both delish. I stayed in the motel which is next to hotel - room big with balcony overlooking the ocean. Location convenient, can walk to the wharf for cafe and watch local fishing for entertainment - witnessed 20kg kingfish get pulled in! Tathra beach good for swimming, water crisp and clean. Loved my stay!
