Epic Maui Car Camping

We had an amazing time with epic Maui car camping. This experience allowed us to be immersed in nature, spend more time near beautiful, remote locations and see Maui more thoroughly. The car was great, everything was clean and thoughtfully organized! We would absolutely recommend this experience and would do it again in this way!

The car was fitted out with everything you need from washing up detergent, salt and pepper, emergency toilet paper, knives, and forks, pots and pans and bowls for eating etc. The cooler box (chilly bin) was really effective and a bag of ice lasted two days despite the heat. The cooker was effective as well and easy to set up. The mattresses were comfortable enough for a good night sleep (thick enough for a softer underlay) and everything (towels, duvets, pillows ) smelt really clean. The car had 2 x USB ports.

Sadly, there are a number of cons. There are hidden costs after your booking process that aren’t mentioned in the rental agreement. They include extra insurances, extra fees for accessories such as mosquito nets which should be included in the price. There is also an early check-in fee of $50 US dollars when you should be able to collect the car as soon as you arrive just like any rental car. Many of the URL links that they send you in the information pack for various camping grounds do not work. The car is hot to sleep in even in April so you have to sleep with the windows down. It would be good if they added a little USB fan to the kit as an option.

Everything we needed was there.

Due to recent power outages, finding propane for the stove was difficult. However, lots of really good food that does not need to be cooked is available on Maui.
