The Sands Motel Adelaide

We only stay for a night. And it’s completely fine.

When the wind blows at night time it will pushed the door and made noises.

Location to city and ease of checkin and accomodating hosts

Not a great deal.

It is dated, would benefit from a refurbishment. Car park outside the lower floor rooms caused disturbance overnight. No obvious signs of staff after 7pm. Dirty room, gap under the door of at least 25cm, metal staircase to upper floor meant nobody could walk up or downstairs quietly, very dark room, poor lighting. Not a nice place to stay.

We were very happy with the hotel's location and the room size and comfort level were great. There is plenty of car space and several restaurants across the road - highly recommend 'Singapore House' (EXCELLENT!! - Shown in photo with the palm tree). Has everything you'd need for a short stay and staff are friendly. Thank you!

The only gripe I had was the shower pressure not so great and not pleasant to use.

Usually when I stay at a motel/hotel I have issues with the beds because of a major spinal issue. At the The Sands this wasn't an issue at all, which was a GREAT surprise. The bed was hard due to a board under the bed making it very firm for me. Others may not like this but have 16 spinal discs on your spinal cord, its a God send and relieved the pain a LOT. THANK YOU. It made going to the Adelaide Medeival Festival where I was showing my wares as a Bowyer (archery bow maker) a lot better.

On our second night other people staying at the motel just didn't seem to be able to seem to get their correct parking bays unlike the 1st night. People where parked all over the place due to just a few drivers.
