Hinodeya Ryokan

This is great for a solo stay to explore Izu-Kogen. This traditional ryokan is family-owned and staying here feels like being welcomed into someone's home. The room I stayed in was small and humble, but comfortable. I slept well in the futon, and AC unit worked well. Being able to book a private bath was lovely and easy to do with the online booking system. The staff kindly spoke to me in English. I heard the owner graciously offers shuttle services, but I did not utilize it since I arrived when the owner was already out helping to transport other guests. Buses do not run as often, so you may need to plan accordingly. I ended up taking a taxi to Mt. Omuro as the weather was rainy and took the bus back. I am grateful the owner & staff was kind enough to accommodate an earlier breakfast time for me as I had existing plans to catch an early bullet train in Atami. The owner is very kind, and I had fun conversing with him and practicing my limited Japanese. This time I stayed only for 1 night, but I will definitely return to explore more of what I missed! Just an advisory - Be aware that bathroom & bathroom sink areas are shared. I got up during the night to use it and took extra care in being quiet in the hallway to be respectful of other guests. During my stay, guests with children were a bit noisy in the hallways and lounge.

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. He provided transportation to and from the train station and even drove us to the mountain area. He also helped deliver our luggage, so there was absolutely nothing to worry about during our stay. The place was very clean, comfortable, and had a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to try the food, but judging from everything else, I believe it must be excellent as well. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Izu area!

I had a wonderful stay at Hinodeya Ryokan. If you are looking for a local, family-run, ryokan style hotel with tatami mats, wooden walls and sliding doors, two on-site onsen, and a delicious and authentic Japanese breakfast, look no further. HIYOSHI and his team/family are unbelievably kind and ridiculously helpful. They do any and everything to help you enjoy your stay at their establishment, including driving all around the area to shuttle you to the many wonderful things to see and explore in and around Itō.

We hebben een prettig verblijf gehad. Ze waren ook steeds bereid om ons met hun wagen af te zetten op lokale plaatsen zoals het station, het startpunt van een wandeling,…

We boekten een slot voor het bad maar die was ondanks toch bezet door een andere hotelgast.

スタッフさんの気配り、朝ごはんの美味しさ、良かったです。また利用したい。

海外からのお客様が多い為か、あちこちに張り紙があり少し興醒めだけど、まぁ、仕方ないかなぁ😅
