"Please improve. Please have improvement mindset."

Booked Deluxe Queen room. No sink and no proper cloth hanger. Improperly placed electrical plug for charging devices. Squeaky door.

"Questionable, are there alternatives?"

Location just over 1k to station.Close to shops and restaurants about 500m. Room a shoe box not what was booked roughly twice what the price should be. Bizarrely had hot water shower and a tv though no control. Multiple bites during my stay in Tumpat though not definitively linked to hotel.

"Great for short term stay"

It's a cosy clean place. Staff very friendly. 3 minute walk from a supermarket called Pantai Timor. EMART24 convenience store next door selling snacks and kombucha. A Buddhist temple 5 mins walk away.

The cheaper priced rooms don't have windows but have aircon. So ventilation not perfect but it's ok
