Gundagai Motel

Location is good for travellers. This is a budget motel and is exactly that. We stayed in this motel twice, once as we were travelling north from Melbourne and also on our return. Firstly we stayed in a newer section and this unit was good but on the return we stayed in what looked like the original section which was only fair. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms were good and with most of the facilities one would expect for the price.

This motel is used by truckies and a couple started their engines at 6am, left them on idle to warm up then went to have breakfast. The second stay in the older section had inadequate bench space for preparing meals, lack of power points, the only light was the one in the centre of the room - no bedside lights.

Good location to town, good value, friendly staff and helpful, bed was Ok. Good shower. Clean and tidy.

Water pipe noise from hot water pipes from adjacent guests, ceiling fan in bathroom was noisy, especially during the night. Local traffic noise very early.

Overpriced for a Very small room that is very basic.

Check-in process was easy and efficient, the room was fine and the bed comfortable. Great to have USB A and C powerpoints beside the bed. Excellent location on the main street, close to good cafe options.

Easy late check in.

We would have appreciated the AC turned on for our late arrival. Extremely hot day and it took 3 hours for the room to adjust. Poor kids were at the far end of the family room and sweltered all night. A fan would have made all the difference. The shower had a strong smell of septic until we'd all showered. Beds are rock hard.
