Nimmitabel Motel

Apart from the Federal Hotel alternative accomodation is scarce, hence the motel. It was comfortable and more importantly warm.

While the room had the basics, the television did not work, there were 5 cups but no drinking glasses. Mostimportantly there are no staff on site. Check in is at the Federal Hotel in the main street of Nimatabel.

Staff were amenable, easy to talk to, good for recommendations. Meals at the associated pub were bold and hearty, good for a winter feed to warm up without being oversized.

Totally over priced Old property for sure but price it accordingly

The fellow at registration was very friendly and had I planned better I would have liked to come in for dinner.

Registration is at the federal inn (nearly a kilometre away) which I wasn't aware of so I drove to the motel, wandered around until I found the sign on the art gallery, then drove to the inn, did registration and drove back.. This further aggravated a mixup over our room (I had paid for a deluxe but got back and discovered it we had been given a budget room). The rooms have little sound dampening so after 9h of hiking and 3h of driving I was extremely tired and I wasn't exactly pleased to discover I could hear every sound from our neighbours. The doors had issues with properly catching and the signal to the tv was so bad the image was half corrupted.

The power went off at midnight and didn't come back on. Ergo, no fridge, no microwave I couldnt have my breakfast.

Easy access, have to go to the Federal Hotel to pick up the door code. Generous with towels & coffee & milk. Everything worked, bed was comfortable, heater was great, good shower - was older style , but clean & had wifi . Disney channel was great , I watched alien vs predator- I was very late booking, & getting there- great for my one night stay
