"Beautiful views & private location"

10.0

Beautiful location. The views are spectacular. Whilst on a working farm the shepherds hut is completely private. The hut is very well equipped and comfortable.

Only downside was flies, whilst this can’t be helped a can of fly spray or some citronella would be helpful. However, this would not deter us from staying again.

"A beautiful hut in a special location."

7.0

The hut was very beautifully kitted out and the bed was exceptional - really comfortable. Really appreciated the bread, milk and butter left for me.

Not having an electric kettle, it’s a bit awkward. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi would only connect for a minute or so and then drop out, which took the TV connection with it, so I had to give up at 10pm when it was a bit late to contact the owners. The main problem was tree branches scraping the roof of the hut all night in the windy weather which meant I had a sleepless night. The light from the pretty garden lights is also very bright which the blinds don’t keep out. It would have been nice to have the fresh eggs from the farm that other visitors experienced, but unfortunately, I didn’t see the owners or get offered a tour of the farm.

"Great location, clean & well appointed, stunning views and bird song"

9.0

Drift View was as advertised and suited our needs for our short stay. The hut was spotlessly clean and is very well thought out, having everything we needed in a small space. Despite our concerns before we arrived, there was enough room for us and our two small dogs. When we first arrived, we were concerned about how close it was to the rest of the farm, but it was very quiet and the singing Skylarks were simply wonderful. The views are spectacular and it was wonderful to sit in bed looking out of the window, listening to the birds. Also loved all the flowers, wild and planted, in the garden. Communication with the owner was swift and they were very helpful, otherwise leaving us to enjoy our visit.

This was our first time in a shepherd's hut and we typically wouldn't stay in one (we are not campers!); I believe this was pretty luxurious compared to most. The following comments did not detract at all from the visit and are really picking holes in what was otherwise a pleasant stay! We were slightly chilly the first evening, but once in the comfy bed, we were toasty. We turned up the thermostat a bit and after that, it was comfortable. We had some issues with the Wifi, but these were swiftly rectified by the owner. The garden was fenced, but it was not secure for our two tiny dogs, who could easily slip under the gate. This was not a major issue for us, as our dogs are well behaved, but as the gate leads to the wider farm, a less obedient small dog would need to be kept on a lead in the garden.

"lovely tranquil escape in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside."

8.0

the quirkiness, the tranquility and the openness of the surrounding area.

steps into hut could have been slightly bigger and maybe limits the age group of her people who use it.
